Trust mark comparison: what you get for free
Which questions to ask any trust mark or review provider, what CheckShop gives for free, and how a few well-known providers compare on a free mark and the contract term.

Trust marks and review services look alike from the outside: a seal, stars and a profile page. The differences are in what is checked, what you pay, and how long you are tied in. This post lists the questions worth asking, what CheckShop gives for free, and how a few well-known providers compare on three points.
Six questions to ask any provider
- What does it cost per month, excluding VAT, and how long are you tied in?
- Is the shop itself checked, or are reviews only collected?
- Can a shop pay for a better score or a better place?
- In which languages do buyers see your profile?
- Can you bring the reviews you already have?
- What do you keep if you stop paying?
What CheckShop gives for free
On the free plan you get your public profile with your score, the basic trust mark for your own site, a widget with your latest reviews, 10 review invitations a month, the dashboard and a check every week. You keep all of that if you stop a paid plan. The shop itself is checked: 25 checks, repeated every week, and the score comes only from the checks and reviews. Buyers see the profile in 10 languages.
Paid plans cost from €4.99 to €49.99 a month excluding VAT and run month to month. Starter adds the badge designer and 25 invitations a month, Pro unlimited invitations and the API, and Business up to 5 domains, review import from Trustpilot and Google, and a white-label badge. See all prices.
Side by side on three points
For other providers we only list what they state on their own websites, as of October 2026. A free trust mark here means a seal for your own site that says the shop was checked, at no cost. Free review widgets are not counted.
- CheckShop: free trust mark, yes. Month to month, cancel any time. Complaint mediation on every plan, not binding.
- WebwinkelKeur: no free trust mark. Yearly subscription. 2, 6 or 10 mediated disputes a year, depending on the package.
- Trusted Shops: no free trust mark. Minimum term of 12 months.
- Trustpilot: no free trust mark. Paid plans from $99 a month, billed yearly.
- Thuiswinkel Waarborg, Kiyoh, Feedback Company, eKomi: no free trust mark. For terms and prices, see their own sites.

Which one fits
If you mainly want a seal and reviews without a contract, start with a free mark and see what your buyers do with it. If you sell a lot abroad, look at the languages a profile is shown in. If a membership with a sector association matters to your buyers, that is a reason to pay for one. Whatever you choose, ask every buyer for a review: see how to do that within the EU rules.
