CheckShop for PrestaShop

A free module for PrestaShop 1.7.8 to 9. It shows your CheckShop trust mark and your latest reviews in your shop and at checkout, and lets CheckShop e-mail your customers a review invitation when their order ships.

Version 1.0.0 · PrestaShop 1.7.8 to 9.x · PHP 7.4 or newer (PrestaShop 9: PHP 8.1+).

Install

  1. 1Download the module (checkshop-prestashop.zip).
  2. 2In your back office, go to Modules > Module Manager and click Upload a module. Choose the zip file.
  3. 3When the upload is done, click Configure.

Show the trust mark

The trust mark is free on every plan and needs no account or API key.

  1. 1Check the Shop domain. The module fills in your shop's own domain; change it if your shop is listed on CheckShop under another domain.
  2. 2Choose Floating trust mark (a corner of every page) and/or Mark on checkout (above the payment options), and the style, corner, size and theme.
  3. 3Click Save.

On the Free plan CheckShop always shows the default card. The other styles and the dark theme come with the badge designer, from the Starter plan. For every option of the mark, see the badge guide.

Show your latest reviews

Switch on Latest reviews on the homepage to show your three newest CheckShop reviews on the homepage. It is free on every plan and needs no API key.

Review invitations

When an order gets a status you choose, CheckShop e-mails the customer a link to review your shop. Reviews from these links are marked as verified purchases.

  1. 1Copy your API key from your CheckShop dashboard (Trust mark > Your API key).
  2. 2In the module, switch on Send invitations and paste the API key.
  3. 3Choose the Days to wait (0 to 30) and the statuses that send the invitation. The default is Shipped.
  4. 4Click Save and check connection. The module shows which CheckShop shop and plan the key belongs to.

CheckShop writes the e-mail in the language of the order, waits the number of days you chose and reminds the customer once after seven days if they have not reviewed yet.

The API key works on every plan. Free sends up to 10 invitations a month, Starter up to 25, and from Pro there is no limit. Invitations from the dashboard count toward the same monthly total. See pricing.

Privacy and data

  • Trust mark and reviews: the visitor's browser loads the CheckShop script and your shop's public data from checkshop.eu. No order or customer data is sent.
  • Invitations: only when switched on. For each chosen status change, your shop sends the customer's e-mail address, name, order reference and order language to CheckShop, which uses them only to send the invitation.
  • The module stores no customer data in your shop and supports the PrestaShop GDPR module's data export and erasure.

See the CheckShop privacy policy.

Questions

The trust mark does not show. Why?
Check the Shop domain in the module settings: it must be the domain your shop is listed under on CheckShop. Your theme must also have the displayBeforeBodyClosingTag hook, which the default theme and almost every theme have. Clear the PrestaShop cache after saving.
An order reached Shipped but no invitation went out.
Look in Advanced Parameters > Logs: the module writes the reason CheckShop gave there, for example that the monthly limit of your plan is reached. Also check the waiting time: with 3 days, the e-mail goes out three days after the status change.
I chose both Shipped and Delivered. Does the customer get two e-mails?
No. CheckShop invites each order once, and skips the same e-mail address within seven days.
Does it work with multistore?
Yes. Configure the module per shop; invitations use the settings of the shop the order was placed in.
What happens when I uninstall the module?
All its settings are removed. Invitations already sent stay valid.
