CheckShop for Magento 2

A free module for Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce 2.4.4 and newer. It shows your CheckShop trust mark in your store and at checkout, and lets CheckShop e-mail your customers a review invitation once their order has shipped.

Install

From the Magento root, as the user that owns the files:

The module adds Stores > Configuration > CheckShop > Trust mark and reviews. Admin users need the CheckShop permission (under Stores > Settings > Configuration) to open it.

Show the trust mark

The trust mark is free on every plan and needs no account or API key.

1Open Stores > Configuration > CheckShop > Trust mark and reviews.
2Leave Shop domain empty to use the domain of the store view, or enter the domain your shop is listed under on CheckShop.
3Choose Floating trust mark (a corner of every page) and/or Mark on checkout, and the style, corner, size and theme. Save and flush the cache.

On the Free plan CheckShop always shows the default card; the other styles and the dark theme come with the Starter plan. For the reviews widget and every option of the mark, see the badge guide.

Review invitations

1Copy your API key from your CheckShop dashboard (Trust mark > Your API key).
2In Review invitations, set Send invitations to Yes and paste the API key. It is stored encrypted.
3Choose Send when: A shipment is created (default) or The order is complete, and the Days to wait (0 to 30). Save.

CheckShop writes the e-mail in the language of the store view, waits the number of days you chose and reminds the customer once after seven days if they have not reviewed yet. Reviews from these links are marked as verified purchases.

The API key works on every plan. Free sends up to 10 invitations a month, Starter up to 25, and from Pro there is no limit. See pricing.

Privacy and data

Trust mark: the visitor's browser loads the CheckShop script and your shop's public data from checkshop.eu. No order or customer data is sent.
Invitations: only when switched on. For each shipped or completed order, Magento sends the customer's e-mail address, name, order number and store language to CheckShop, which uses them only to send the invitation.
The module adds no tables and stores no customer data. Removing it removes nothing from your orders.

Questions

The trust mark does not show.

Check Show the trust mark and the Shop domain for the store view you are looking at, and flush the cache. If your store uses a strict Content Security Policy, the module already allows https://checkshop.eu; a custom policy module may need the same host.

A shipment was created but no invitation went out.

Look in var/log/system.log for a line starting with CheckShop:. It carries the reason CheckShop gave, for example that the monthly limit of your plan is reached. Also check the waiting time.

An order has two shipments. Does the customer get two e-mails?

No. CheckShop invites each order once, and skips the same e-mail address within seven days.

Does it work with several store views?

Yes. Every setting can differ per website or store view; invitations use the settings and the language of the store view the order was placed in.
