CheckShop for CCV Shop

CCV Shop has no CheckShop app yet, but two pieces of code do the same job: one shows the free trust mark on every page, the other asks CheckShop to invite the customer to a review after each order.

Show the trust mark

Free on every plan, no account or API key needed.

1In your CCV Shop admin, go to My web shop > Settings > Layout and open the layout page.
2Paste the code below at the end of the Header HTML field, with your own domain instead of jouwshop.nl. Click Apply.
3Do the same in Header HTML on the layout page for the mobile website, and for every language of your shop.

Review invitations

After an order, CCV Shop shows the customer a confirmation text. Code in that text runs in the customer's browser and passes the order number and e-mail address to CheckShop, which sends the invitation.

1Look up your Shop ID in your CheckShop dashboard, under Trust mark > Your API key.
2In CCV Shop, go to My web shop > Settings > General > Texts. Find the text customers see after they placed their order (in the English admin it is called Orders shipped text: shipped as in sent to you).
3Click Source at the top left of the editor, paste the code below on a new line and replace JOUW_SHOP_ID with your Shop ID. Leave [OrderNumber] and [MailAddress] as they are: CCV Shop fills them in. Save.

The invitation is sent straight away, or after the waiting time you set in your CheckShop settings (a few days, so the parcel has arrived). Free sends up to 10 invitations a month, Starter up to 25, Pro and up without limit.

Test it

1Place a test order with your own e-mail address.
2Open Reviews in your dashboard. Within a minute, Open invitations goes up by one.
3If it does not, check that the code sits in the after-order text (not in an e-mail template), that the Shop ID is right, and that the order page runs on the same domain as your CheckShop profile.

Privacy and data

Trust mark: the visitor's browser loads the CheckShop script and your shop's public data. No order or customer data is sent.
Invitations: the customer's browser sends the order number and e-mail address to CheckShop, which uses them only to send the invitation. Mention CheckShop in your privacy statement.

Questions

My shop runs on a ccvshop.nl address. Does it work?

The order code only works when the order confirmation runs on the domain of your CheckShop profile. Claim your shop on CheckShop with the domain your customers order on.

Does the customer get two e-mails when they reload the page?

No. CheckShop invites each order once.

Can I add the code through Google Tag Manager instead?

For the trust mark, yes: a Custom HTML tag on all pages. The order code needs the order number and e-mail address on the confirmation page, which CCV Shop fills in only in its own text fields.
