CheckShop for Mijnwebwinkel

Mijnwebwinkel does not let you paste code into your shop directly. With Google Tag Manager, which Mijnwebwinkel connects on its PRO and PREMIUM plans, you can still show the free CheckShop trust mark and send review invitations after orders.

Connect Google Tag Manager

  1. 1Create a free account and container at tagmanager.google.com (type: Web). Copy the container ID, GTM-XXXXXXX.
  2. 2Connect the container in your Mijnwebwinkel admin, as described in Mijnwebwinkel's help article “Wat is Google Tag Manager?”. This needs a PRO or PREMIUM plan.

Show the trust mark

Free on every CheckShop plan, no account or API key needed.

  1. 1In Google Tag Manager, click New tag, choose Custom HTML and paste the code below, with your own domain instead of jouwshop.nl.
  2. 2Under Triggering, choose All Pages. Name the tag CheckShop trust mark and save.
  3. 3Click Submit and then Publish. The mark shows in the bottom-right corner of your shop.
<script src="https://checkshop.eu/badge/v1/loader.js" data-shop="jouwshop.nl"></script>

Review invitations

On the page customers see after ordering, a second tag passes the order number and e-mail address to CheckShop, which sends the invitation. Mijnwebwinkel puts order data in the dataLayer; check first which fields your thank-you page has.

  1. 1In Google Tag Manager, click Preview, open your shop and place a test order. On the thank-you page, look in the preview's Data Layer tab for the order number and the customer's e-mail address, and note their names (for example transaction_id). Note the address of the thank-you page as well.
  2. 2Under Variables, create two Data Layer Variables with those names, called CheckShop bestelnummer and CheckShop e-mail.
  3. 3Create a Custom HTML tag with the code below and replace JOUW_SHOP_ID with your Shop ID (dashboard, Trust mark > Your API key). Trigger: Page View where Page URL contains the thank-you page address you noted.
  4. 4Preview again with a test order, then Submit and Publish. In your dashboard, Open invitations goes up by one.
<script>
  (function () {
    var email = {{CheckShop e-mail}};
    var order = {{CheckShop bestelnummer}};
    if (!email) return;
    fetch("https://checkshop.eu/api/v1/order-completed", {
      method: "POST",
      headers: { "Content-Type": "application/json" },
        body: JSON.stringify({
        shopId: "JOUW_SHOP_ID",
        orderId: String(order || ""),
        customerEmail: String(email)
      })
    });
  })();
</script>
No e-mail address in the dataLayer? Then this route does not work for your shop: send invitations from the Reviews page of your dashboard instead. Free sends up to 10 invitations a month, Starter up to 25, Pro and up without limit.

Without Google Tag Manager

On plans without Google Tag Manager you can still link to your CheckShop profile: add a link to https://checkshop.eu/shop/jouwshop.nl (with your domain) in a text block or in your footer, with a text like “Reviews on CheckShop”.

Questions

Do customers get two e-mails when they reload the thank-you page?
No. CheckShop invites each order once.
Is it allowed to send the e-mail address this way?
The address goes from the customer's browser straight to CheckShop, only to send the invitation. Mention CheckShop in your privacy statement. Do not send the e-mail address to other tags, such as analytics.
